New LiFi technology introduced is 100 times faster than WiFi

LONDON: UAE based telecommunication company du and Zero 1 claimed that they have introduced LiFi technology in Dubai which is 100 times faster than WiFi.
LiFi technology provides a data transferring speed up to 224 GB and uses light-emitting diodes for data transmission instead of radio waves.
Du claimed that this technology is 100 times faster than WiFi and will provide solutions for its business customers.
Du claimed that it has demonstrated three use cases over LiFi which includes internet, video and audiostreaming over LiFi and it could also be used indoor and outdoor data transmission.
Executive vice president of du says “With the global LiFi market expected to reach $80 billion by 2021, we expect to see demand for this technology increasing exponentially over the coming years.”
