CAIRO: ISIS claimed Sinai Rocket attack in Egypt which killed 13 policemen.

 

ISIS affiliated Wilayat Sinai claimed the attack on security troops near Arish.

 

Earlier, Egypt’s Interior Ministry claimed that two officers, a policeman and 10 recruits were killed in the attack near Arish in northern Sinai.

 

The ministry claimed that a Hawk surface-to-air missile was used in the attack.

 

The English language and state own Ahram Online daily said on its website “Unidentified gunmen have attacked a security checkpoint in the North Sinai city of Arish.”

 

The IS militants have killed hundreds of policemen and soldiers in most of the attacks in Sinai.

 

The militant group also claimed the responsibility of crash of a Russian airline by a planted bomb in Sinai in October which killed 224 people.

 

The government declared the North Sinai a military zone and imposed curfew in the area.
