Syrian govt involved in war crimes: UN reports

UNITED NATIONS: The United Nations says Syrian government troops and affiliated forces have committed war crimes and a crime against humanity in their long siege of eastern Ghouta.

In a latest report today, the U.N. Commission of Inquiry on Syria, said the government troops carried out heavy bombardment of eastern Ghouta, deliberately starving two hundred sixty five thousand people.

They said the rebel fighters, entrenched in the besieged area, also shelled Damascus, which killed and maimed people, which also amount to war crimes.

The report is based on 140 interviews as well as photographs, videos, satellite imagery, and medical records.
