Pak facing serious challenge of fiscal deficit: Shamshad Akhtar

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar said, the country is facing serious challenge of fiscal deficit and government is considering introducing reforms in the taxation system.
Addressing a ceremony of Pakistan tax bar association in Islamabad, the finance minister said, Pakistan needs to focus on achieving sustainable development goals.
She underscored that the increase in tax net is essential for the developing states and Pakistan should enhance dependency on domestic resources to drive out from current challenges.
The finance minister also called for financial reforms for economic progress.
