ISLAMABAD - An intelligence agencies report submitted to the Interior Ministry and the Election Commission of Pakistan has highlighted the threats faced by the election process in all four provinces.
The report states that separatists are a security challenge in Balochistan while in Karachi, the MQM-London could act to sabotage elections.
The report identifies religious extremism as the biggest security challenge to the election exercise in Punjab.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the agencies suspect attacks on political leaders is the biggest threat and have also said the Pakhtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) — some leaders of which are in the election race as independents — could pose a challenge.
