Taliban stressed on foreign forces pull out in UAE talks: Khalilzad

US Special Representative for Afghanistan’s Reconciliation process Zalmay Khalilzad says Taliban delegation were more focused on withdrawal of foreign forces during talks in United Arab Emirates.
During an interview with Afghan Television, Aryana US peace envoy criticised the Taliban for not holding meeting with Afghan government delegation.
He said if the Taliban were sincere in peace talks they should have met the Afghan government delegation.
Khalilzad is in Afghanistan to brief the Afghan government leadership on his meetings with different stake holders related to peace in Afghanistan.
He warned declining to meet the Afghan delegation may harm the Taliban.
He said if the Taliban prefer to fight instead of peace, the US would stand with Afghan government.
