ISLAMABAD (APP): India cannot suppress the Kashmiris freedom struggle with Power: APHC Leaders
Hurriyet forum has condemned the continued house detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other leaders including Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam.
The Hurriyet forum spokesman in a media interview in Held Srinagar said that the arrest spree across the Valley was an eye-opener for the world human rights organizations, Kashmir Media Service reported.
Terming the house detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Shahid-ul-Islam as frustration of the authorities, he demanded their immediate and unconditional release.
He said that such oppression on people with excessive use of force could not force people to give up their struggle based on just rights.
The spokesman while terming the violence in Rajouri's Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) as unfortunate, said it was the responsibility of the university administration to protect students from the attacks by communal and extremist elements.
It urged students from Jammu and Kashmir to focus their attention and energies on studies instead.
Meanwhile, Jammu Kashmir Peoples league Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing a meeting in Held Srinagar expressed sympathy with the students of BGSBU and condemned the use of brute force by the authorities on them.
Deliberating upon the prevailing situation in the territory, Waza said India cannot crush the ongoing freedom movement through use of military might. He said that removing a single banker after killing five innocents would not serve any purpose.
The issue can only be resolved through giving the people of occupied Kashmir their inalienable right to self-determination.
