Senate body to be briefed SBP on devolution of rupee

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs on Wednesday will be briefed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on the recent devolution of rupee against the dollar and its impact on country’s economy.
The committee will be held under the Chairmanship of Senator Farooq Hamid Naek at Parliament House here.
The Committee will be also briefed by Ministry of Finance on the decision of Federal Cabinet dated 4th October, 2018, regarding appointments of the Chairperson and members of Competition Commission of Pakistan.
According to the Notice of Senate Secretariat, the Committee will discuss the reply submitted by the FBR on the sudden changes in the Customs Tariffs especially that of copper, cotton and some other items, after immediate passage of Federal Budget, 2018-19.
