Punjab Govt , NADRA sign contract extension for arms licences 2018-20

ISLAMABAD: Government of Punjab and NADRA have signed Contract Extension of Punjab Arms License 2018-2020.

The Contract Extension was signed by Chairman NADRA Usman Mobin and Additional Chief Secretary Home Punjab Maj Azam Suleman in Lahore today.

Under the agreement, computerization of all arms licenses of Punjab will be extended for another three years till 2020 as the initial contract of three years expired last year.

NADRA will provide Smart Card based end-to-end solution, revalidation of individual licenses, securities companies and institutions licences, new licenses issuance system, and verification services for law enforcement agencies, arms dealers, and armorers and manufacturers computerisation for better control and management and allied services.

During three years period 2014 to 2017, NADRA established 36 dedicated registration centers in each districts of Punjab, 191 facilitation counters at National Registration Centres dedicated mobile registration vans, and dedicated center for companies and institutions.

It is pertinent to mention that during last three years NADRA, under contract, has registered and computerized over 89 percent of total licenses issued in the province.
