Pakistan will get points if India refuses to play with green shirts in World Cup: ICC

The International Cricket Council has confirmed that the group stage match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan will take place according to the schedule.

The Chief Executive Officer of ICC David Richardson said that according to the rules Pakistan will get the points if India will refuse to play with the green shirts in the World Cup.

He said that all teams have signed a members’ participation agreement, which requires them to participate in all the matches of the tournament and any unjustified non-compliance with that provision, the playing conditions will kick in and the points will be awarded accordingly.

The ICC response came after former Indian cricketers demanded the BCCI to influence the ICC to ban Pakistan from the World Cup following the attack in Pulwama.

Committee of Administrators wrote a letter to ICC on the instructions of Indian Supreme Court in which they demanded the World’s cricket governing body to boycott Pakistan.
