DUBAI - Pakistan’s head coach Mickey Arthur on Sunday revealed that senior players were rested for Australia series to save them from fatigue and injuries before the World Cup 2019.
He termed objections being raised on resting senior players ‘wrong and baseless’.
Arthur revealed that Pakistan have a busy schedule ahead of them before the mega-event. “Pakistan will take on Australia in UAE and then would play another five matches with England. After that, Pakistan will take on Afghanistan and Ireland in the warm-up matches”, Arthur was quoted as saying.
He further stated that the decision to rest six senior players was taken after mutual consultation.
Arthur expressed concerns on lack of good batsmen in the side.
