Fake Bank Accounts case: Asif Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto appear before NAB

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former president Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday recorded statement to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the fake accounts case.

Bilawal and Zardari were being interrogated by two separate investigation teams led by DG NAB Rawalpindi Irfan Mangi.

PPP chairman was inquired about the Park Lane Estate company for 40 minutes. Bilawal however told NAB officials that he was unaware of the financial transactions of this company.

Former president Asif Ali Zardari was questioned on the Zardari Group for approximately 50 minutes.

A huge crowd of supporters had gathered outside the bureau’s main office dubbed NAB Rawalpindi. PPP workers clashed with the police deployed for security around the NAB premises.

At least one police official was injured after a lady worker hurled a stone at him. In an effort to control PPP workers and stop them from entering the NAB office, police baton-charged the PPP workers.
