NEW DELHI: Delhi Police claimed that Al-Qaeda training camp exists somewhere in Jharkand.
Earlier, Delhi Police arrested an accused Muhammad Asif and claimed that the person belongs to Ayman al-Zawahiri’s Al-Qaeda in December last year.
Police claimed that there is another guy Abu Suffiyan of Jharkand who have allegedly got trained at Lashkar-e-Taiba campus and linked with Al-Qaeda Indian Sub-Continent (AQIS).
Delhi Police also submitted an application in the court for tracing Abu Suffiyan in Jharkand and asked for extension of time for filing charge sheet against Mohammad Asif.
Delhi police has also arrested 4 others earlier this year and claimed that Sufiyan’s arrest is necessary to find out the missing links.
Jharkand police refused Delhi police’s arguments and claimed that there are no terror camps in Jharkand.
Inspector General of police (operation) MS Bhatia also refused the findings of Delhi police.
He said “Modules of Indian Mujahiddin existed in the state but they have been busted. They were responsible for the Patna and the Bodh Gaya blasts. The terrorists develop sleeper cells in the state whose members carry out violent acts in other states.”
