ECP constitutes 20 tribunals to hear cases related to nomination papers

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has formed 20 appellate tribunals for disposing of appeals against rejection or acceptance of nomination papers.      

According to an ECP notification, the tribunals comprised high court judges. Eight tribunals have been constituted for Punjab, six for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, four for Sindh, and two for Balochistan.    

As per the election schedule, appeals against rejection or acceptance of nomination papers can be filed by Friday.

The decision on the appeals will be made by 27th of this month, after which the final list of the candidates will be published on the next day.

The last date for withdrawal of candidature will be 29th of this month.

The date for allocation of electoral symbols and publication of the final list of contesting candidates is 30th of this month.
