No compromise on Balochistan water share: CM Zehri

QUETTA (APP): Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri has said that the issue of provision of due share of Balochistan in Indus water through Pad Feeder and Kirthar canals would be taken up with the authorities concerned and vowed that no compromise would be made on this issue.

He was talking to a delegation of farmers of Nasirabad division who headed by Advisor to Chief Minister, Muhammad Khan Lehri and Abdul Wahid Shahwani called on him, here on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister said: "We earlier had take up the issue of Balochistan's share in Indus water in the meeting of Council of Common Interest," he said, adding that on the instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, a committee was formed in this regard which had been looking into the matter.

The CM said there would be no injustice in distribution of water adding that every farmer would get its due share in canals' water being supplied through canals.

He directed the authorities to ensure provision of canals' water to farmers living in the end of canals and added that water should also be released in Mithri canal. He directed the officials to remain in touch with the Sindh government for provision of complete share of water of Balochistan.
