NAB-KP arrests own Additional Director on charges of corruption

PESHAWAR (APP): National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (NAB-KP) on Tuesday arrested Rooman Zaheer, Additional Director (BPS-19) in the bureau on the charges of illegal gratification and corruption.
The accused Rooman Zaheer have committed the offence of corruption and corrupt practices with the connivance of others which is cognizable under National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, said official release issued here.
The accused dishonestly, fraudulently, illegally received pecuniary advantage under the garb of closure of inquiry of NAB. The arrest warrants of accused were issued by Director General NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It is worth mentioning here that NAB being an apex anti-corruption body in the country is observing zero tolerance as per loud and clear instruction of Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhary.
The accused will be produced before the accountability court for obtaining his physical remand into NAB custody, it said.
