Efforts underway for implementation of Urdu as official language

ISLAMABAD (APP): Advisor to the Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui has said that Urdu is Pakistan's national language and efforts underway for its implementation as officials language.
He stated this while addressing the participants of Urdu Editorial Training Course here at Federal Urdu University in Islamabad.
He said that Urdu is the language of our customs, traditions and freedom movement, adding that the adoption of Urdu in Pakistan is an essential step to promote it.
He said that government is taking various measures for the promotion of Urdu language and it is our top priority to implement it.
He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the cabinet meeting had directed to further enhance the efforts for adoption of Urdu as an official language in all ministries and government departments.
He said that his division would provide all possible assistance to various government departments for the training of the officials to implement Urdu.
He further said that majority of the members in the cabinet meeting supported measures to adopt Urdu.
Irfan said, "it is a good sign that concerned institutions have started efforts with a new thinking for the promotion of Urdu." He said that Pakistan and Urdu language have a profound and deep relation with each other.
