AJK Elections: Facts and Figures for July 21 elections

KOTLI/MUZAFFARABAD (APP): Electioneering for the general elections of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will end tonight at 12 am.

The candidates of various political parties as well as independent ones are making last-ditch efforts and carrying out door-to-door canvassing to convince the voters in their favour.

According to AJK Election Commission all arrangements for holding free, fair and transparent elections have been finalized.

Meanwhile, foolproof security arrangements have been made on polling day (Thursday). Local police and Army jawan will work collectively to facilitate voters to cast their vote freely and conveniently.

Over 2.6 million people will exercise their right to vote in Thursday's election. As many as 427 candidates, belonging to various political parties as well as independent ones are in the run for 41 seats.

While a total of 2,674,586 people - 1,483,747 men and 1,190,839 women will exercise their right to vote from 29 constituencies of AJK’s nine districts and 12 constituencies of Kashmiri refugees, spreading over four provinces of Pakistan to cast their votes.
