Saudi intelligence officials hold meeting with Afghanistan's NSA

RIYADH - Afghanistan National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar vs held meeting with the senior Saudi intelligence officials over the current situation in the war torn Afghanistan.

He has discussed with Saudi officials bilateral cooperation and the peace process in Afghanistan.

Qader Shah, spokesman for the National Security Council (NSC), said that Atmar was currently in Riyadh on an official visit at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Shahzad Mohammad bin Salman.

Both sides conferred on the peace process, fight against illicit drugs, bilateral security cooperation and economic development of Afghanistan, Shah added.

During a meeting, the NSA and Saudi Interior Minister Abdul Aziz bin Saud discussed job opportunities and other facilities for the Afghan citizens and traders in the holy land.

Meanwhile, the Saudi news agency WAS reported intelligence officials and a number of interior ministry advisors also attend the meeting. Atmar is expected to hold talks with high-level Saudi officials.
