ISLAABAD - Interior Ministry has responded back to the letter of the National Accountability Bureau letter putting the Sharif family on the Exit Control List.
* The interior ministry said that substantial reasons should be provided for adding the names of former PM Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain Safdar on the Exit Control List (ECL).*
Refusing to place the names on the ECL, the interior ministry asked why they should be put on the list.
On Wednesday, NAB had asked the interior ministry to place the names on the ECL. According to reports, the request was made via letters written to the interior ministry.
The Sharif family is currently facing three corruption references under the Supreme Court orders in the Panama Papers case.
