Khalilzad arrives in Kabul to hold talks with Afghan leadership

KABUL: US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad has arrived in Kabul to hold talks with Afghan leaders to reach a negotiated settlement on the conflict in Afghanistan.
The US Embassy in Kabul in a statement said Khalilzad arrived in Kabul after three days of meetings in Abu Dhabi, including the fourth round of quadrilateral meetings between the US, Afghanistan, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
It said the meetings were part of efforts by the US and international partners to promote an intra-Afghan dialogue aimed at ending the conflict in Afghanistan.
