JRL holds protest in Srinagar against civilian killings

ISLAMABAD: A protest demonstration was held at Aabi Guzar in Srinagar to register protest against the killing spree unleashed by the Indian forces across the territory.

Call for the protest was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. A large number of people including Hurriyat leaders and activists participated in the protest. They marched on the streets and raised high-pitched anti-India slogans, KMS reported.

As the participants of the rally reached near Press Colony, Srinagar, the Indian police and paramilitary personnel resorted to brute force to prevent the protesters from moving towards Lal Chowk.

The protesters were carrying banners and placards bearing “Stop Civilian Killings” and “Stop RSS Agenda”.
