US, Russia welcome UN's invitation to attend Syria talks August 20, 2020

ISLAMABAD- The United States and Russia have welcomed an invitation from the UN’s special envoy to Syria to participate in a third round of Syrian Constitutional Committee talks in Geneva next week.
At an online meeting of the UN Security Council, UN’s special envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen urged parties to attend the meeting in good faith and without preconditions.
US envoy for the United Nations Kelly Craft stressed that the United States will support to draft a new Syrian constitution.
Russia’s envoy to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya underlined the importance of maintaining political dialogue and said Russia will continue to have a special representative in the committee and provide necessary support to Syrians.
