Rental law violations result in arrest of House Owners

RAWALPINDI: (APP) Police on Saturday arrested 20 house owners and tenants for not providing their data to relevant police stations and violating rental laws.
Bani Police arrested tenants Gul Zaman, Ayub and Asif Noor Khan while New Town Police held hotel Manager Dawood and Arshad. Mandra Police arrested Ramzan and Tasin while Saddar Barooni nabbed Abid, Tahir, Rehmat, Altaf, Abdul Ghafoor and Javed.
Similarly, Airport Police arrested Munir, Nasim, Shehzad, Abdul Salam and Ibrar who had no proper documentation.
According to a police spokesman, cases were registered under the Punjab Information of Temporary Residence Ordinance 2015. Under the ordinance, details of new tenants should be provided to the police within 24 hours of giving possession of the property, he added.
