Indo-China Military Hot line likely in near future

BEIJING: Indo-China Military Hotline is likely to be established in near future between the two headquarters to further improve border management relations.

The announcement was made by Indian defence minister Manohar Parrikar during his visit to China where he met with his Chinese counterpart and later with China’s highest military official General Fan Changlong.

Parrikar claimed that Indo-China friendly relations are important to increase ties and for peace and stability in the region.

He said “A lot of issues were discussed. We have generally agreed to enhance the bilateral exchanges at military level and at ministry level.”

Parrikar also discussed to settle the 3,488 km long Line of Actual Control (LAC) which is a root cause of tensions between two countries.

The LSA agreement between India and US was also discussed and China raised concerns on it.

On the other hand Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj hold separate meetings with their Chinese counterparts.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said “We are ready to work with India to constantly make new progress on building the China-India Strategic and Cooperative Partnership for Peace and Prosperity.”
