Pakistani Skipper Babar Azam's Captaincy at stake

Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team and member of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Cricket Committee, Muhammad Hafeez, has said that we should fully support national captain Babar Azam for the World Cup, and consider Babar's captaincy after the World Cup. Hafeez hinted that Babar's captaincy depends on his and team performance in the World Cup.

Speaking to the media at the Karachi Press Club, he expressed his views on the performance of the national team in the Asia Cup. He said that we have to accept that we were unsuccessful in the Asia Cup. We will acknowledge this failure and move towards improvement.

Muhammad Hafeez mentioned that these players have been playing for Pakistan for quite some time. They were playing in various leagues before the Asia Cup, and injuries were a concern due to the league commitments. When you play so many leagues, there is a possibility of getting injured in major tournaments.
