Former Pakistani Skipper Shoaib Malik makes history in T20 World

ISLAMABAD - Pakistani Skipper Shoaib Malik makes history in T20 World, media report has revealed.

Shoaib Malik has become the first-ever Pakistani to feature in 350 T20 matches. The veteran all-rounder marked the milestone with a stunning performance during the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and leading his side to victory.

The skipper of Guyana Amazon Warriors, Malik scored 67 runs from just 37 deliveries against Jamaica Tallawahs. His unbeaten innings included 6 fours and 3 sixes.

Speaking about the achievement, Malik said:

When I first started playing cricket, I never thought I would play 350 games in total, never mind 350 in just one format. I feel honoured to have been a part of this beautiful game of cricket. When I started my career, T20 cricket didn’t exist, and it makes me proud that I was able to keep my game relevant to the modern-day cricket.

In addition to that, Malik has also become the first overseas player to score 1500 runs in CPL history. Overall, Malik is ranked fourth in the list of most runs scored in T20s.
