*LAHORE - *Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Junaid Arshad has gone into hiding.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday ordered his immediate arrest for impersonating his ex-wife Ayesha Subhani on Facebook and posting objectionable photographs of her on the social networking site.
Ayesha said that her life will remain under threat as long as the accused remains free. “He has repeatedly tarnished my sanctity by levelling baseless allegations against me but never proved these in any court of law. He is sending copies of FIRs at my workplace and has been constantly abusing the law for a long time,” she said.
Ayesha said that Junaid has tried to murder her twice. She appealed to the authorities concerned to arrest him so that she can feel safe. She further said that Junaid was using his contacts in police to avoid his arrest.
“If Junaid is innocent then why does he not face the court? He is a proclaimed offender but always manipulates law through different tactics in his favour.” she added. She accused Junaid of using his police power and intimidating his junior officers and forcing them to support him.
