CTD Punjab kills top terrorist commander in the longest ever IBO in the history of department: Sources

LAHORE - Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed one of the top most commander of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Hizbul Ahrar (HUA) network.

It was the department’s longest ever Intelligence Based Operation (IBO), reported a local media link outlet.

Suspected terrorists, who were allegedly going to blow up a bus of an intelligence agency, were arrested.

An official said, “It was the longest IBO in the history of the CTD Punjab which culminated in success.”

“When the evidence proved crucial in tracing the trail of the network, another suicide attack was carried out on FC (Frontier Corps) convoy in Nowshera (KP) on May 17,” the official added.

The official also revealed, “The group was formed by Mukarram Shah Mohmand of Mohmand Agency after a dispute with the Jamaatul Ahrar chief Abdul Wali alias Omar Khalid Khurasani.”
