DTH licence by PEMRA; Project status update

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) in its 118th meeting on Monday approved the decision of extension in date for submission of Direct to Home (DTH) licensing to October 15, 2016.
During the meeting held at PEMRA headquarters, the authority members were informed about progress in the case before the Lahore High Court regarding Direct to Home Licensing.

Moreover, PEMRA members were also informed about joint operation of PEMRA and federal institutions to be started on October 15 against illegal DTH from India.
The meeting was presided over by Chairman PEMRA Absar Alam and attended by Secretary Interior Arif Ahmed Khan, Information Secretary Saba Mohsin, Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Dr Ismail Shah, Shaheen Habibullah member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nargis Nasir member Punjab and Sarfraz Khan Jatoi member Sindh.
