Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed strange response over team performance
*He has slammed his side after a batting collapse led them to lose the Test match by four runs against New Zealand, on Monday in the first Test at Abu Dhabi.*
“Obviously, it is disappointing. The start today wasn’t good, but the way Azhar and Asad played, we should have finished it off. The collapse after that was very disappointing for the team,” Sarfraz said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
The skipper lauded opposition bowler Ajaz Patel, who picked five wickets for 59 runs allowing his side to grab the thrilling encounter. “We obviously need to give credit to Ajaz here, he bowled superbly. The pitch has changed and he bowled well,” said Sarfraz.
“Our batsmen should have handled it better, given ourselves a bit of time, but we just didn’t.”
