Islamabad High Court imposes heavy fine on Secretary defence, IGP

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday has imposed Rs 2 million fine on Inspector General of Police (IGP), Secretary Defense and Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in a case pertaining to a missing citizen.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani of the IHC announced the decision of a case filed by the father of Muhammad Abdullah, who according to him was kidnapped in 2015 from Sector I-9 of Islamabad.

Earlier during the hearing, the IGP and JIT submitted their reports in the court in such matter.

The court also ordered for recovery of Abdullah within six months failure to which a letter will be written to Prime Minister of Pakistan for dismissal of IGP and Secretary Defense from their posts.
