Tehran, May 19, IRNA – US proposal for negotiations with Iran is a kind of deceit in the current situation and aims to impose US unilateral demands, according to Iran’s ambassador to Venezuela.
Speaking to Venezuela’s VTV channel on Sunday, Mostafa A’laei said that the cause of US hostile approach towards Iran is Tehran’s opposition to the US aggressive and geopolitical policies in the region.
Since the very beginning of the Islamic Revolution, the United States adopted a hostile approach towards Iran, with destabilizing policies such as taking provocative measures, using economic sanctions on the country and creating terrorist groups, A’laei said.
The US is not resolved for waging a war because of Iran’s might and high power of responding to any possible attack and Iran is not seeking a military confrontation too, the ambassador added.
Asked about Iran’s suspension of some of the commitments it had made under a 2015 nuclear deal with world powers in reaction to US unilateral exit from the deal, he said that Iran was entitled to do so under Articles 26 and 36 of the accord, after a year of patience in the face of US disloyalty and Europe’s inaction.
