US to withdraw assistance from northwest Syria

Washington: The United States has hinted to withdraw assistance from northwest Syria, to focus on recovery efforts on areas retaken from Daesh.
In a statement in Washington, a US State Department official said, tens of millions of dollars will be cut from previous US-backed operations in the northwestern part of Syria.
The official said, the humanitarian assistance would not be affected in the northwest around Idlib province, which is the largest chunk of Syrian territory held by insurgent factions. Reuters
