GILGIT, May 19 (APP): PM Nawaz Sharif reached Gilgit to inaugurate Pak-China Fiber Optic Line
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was accorded warm welcome as he arrived here Thursday on a day long visit.
On his arrival at Gilgit Airport, the Prime Minister was received by Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Governor Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan and members of the GB Legislative Assembly and Council.
Federal Ministers Birjees Tahir and Anusha Rehman are accompanying the Prime Minister.
A smartly turned out contingent of GB Police presented him a salute.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will perform the ground breaking of 820 kilometer long Optical Fiber Cable project between China and Pakistan.
He is also scheduled to attend the GB Council session wherein he will also administer oath to six newly elected Council members.
