PCB Chairman confesses violation of merit in U-19 team

QUETTA: Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shahryar Khan has confessed that national team players have not been selected on merit for U-19 Cricket World Cup.
While talking to media here at today in Quetta, Shahryar Khan accepted that players selection for the U-19 World Cup was not based on merit however strict action would be taken next time in case of violation of merit in the selection of players of U-19 World Cup.
He further added that there is no player in the team having graduation degree excluding Misbah ul Haq so next time educated players would be included in the team.
Talking about the fitness issue of players, he made it clear that no player would be given relief over the matter of fitness while every player would have to pass fitness test for his selection in team.
Shahryar Khan stated that Mudasir Nazar was the most suitable and better contestant for the coaching of National Cricket Academy as he has sacrificed his designation and huge salary in ICC for the sake of Pakistan.
He announced to establish regional academy in Baluchistan saying that 2 to 3 coaches would be hired to groom the talent of cricket in Baluchistan.
Club and universities level championship would be held in the province soon, PCB Chairman elaborated stating that matches would also be played in Quetta over the revival of international cricket in Pakistan.
