ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister exposed Maryam Nawaz lies over not meeting his father for five days.
Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Monday that Maryam Nawaz meets her father Nawaz Sharif every day, however, due to a holiday on Saturday and Sunday she might have been unable to meet him.
“It is something else if Nawaz Sharif does not want to have meetings,” Chaurdhy said.
“The government cannot send Nawaz Sharif to London for treatment, the Punjab government has sent the entire cardiac unit to the jail,” the minister added.
On Monday, Maryam Nawaz lamented that it had been five days that she did not have any access to her father.
The former first daughter said she was waiting for permission to meet her father, who has been incarcerated at Kot Lakhpat jail.
Nawaz, thrice the prime minister of Pakistan, has been in jail since December 2018 following his conviction in a corruption reference in line with the Supreme Court’s July 2017 verdict.
