Bomb blast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa targeting Police

*PESHAWAR: Two police personnel among three people were injured in a blast near a police vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday.*

According to the details, the police personnel were targeted in Parowa tehsil area of DI Khan. Rescue officials shifted the injured to the nearby hospitals.

DI Khan District Police Officer Saleem Riaz said that the bomb was planted on a bicycle and added that the bomb went off when the police vehicle passed by.

He said that two police officials including a sub-inspector and a passerby received injuries.

The police officer said that the around eight kilogrammes of explosive material had been used in the IED that targeted the police vehicle.

Earlier, a key operative of outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had been killed in fighting with police on December 1.

Police killed a key commander of banned TTP in an operation at Gira Alam Khan in Dera Ismail Khan, local police officials had said. The slain terrorist had been identified as Hakeem Khan alias Hakeemi, officials said.

Police on an intelligence tip off launched operation against the terrorist who was hiding at a house of Alam Khan village near here, police said.
