Pakistan Iran to sign MoU over diverse fields

ISLAMABAD- Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage, Irfan Siddiqui has said Pakistan and Iran are tied in the religious, historical and cultural bond which requires enhancing cooperation on literary and cultural fronts.

He expressed these views while talking to Iranian Cultural Counselor, Shahabuddin Darai in Islamabad on Monday.

He said the two countries also share the same literary and poetic legacy which is vital to bring peoples of both countries further closer.

Irfan Siddiqui emphasized on taking mutual steps for preservation and promotion of calligraphy, besides other fields of arts.

He appreciated the services of the outgoing counsellor in Pakistan and hoped he will continue his efforts to further strengthen relations between Pakistan and Iran.

During the meeting it was agreed that Pakistan and Iran will formally sign a Memorandum of Understanding soon to explore more avenues of cooperation in the fields of literature, arts and culture.

Iranian Cultural Counselor also invited Advisor to Prime Minister to visit Tehran for signing of the this MoU.

Speaking on the occasion, Iranian Cultural Counselor, Shahabuddin Darai paid tribute to the exemplary contribution of National History and Literary Heritage Division for promotion of literature, arts and culture in the country.
