President in Dushanbe to hold talks with Tajik leadership to bolster bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain is in Dushanbe on an official visit to Tajikistan.    

President Mamnoon Hussain and his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rehmon during their talks will discuss the whole range of bilateral ties with a view to further strengthen and diversify the relations in different fields for mutual benefit.

The President will also lead Pakistani delegation at the high-level two-day conference on the "International Decade for Action, Water for Sustainable Development" beginning in Dushanbe on Wednesday.

The conference being hosted by Tajikistan in cooperation with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and other partners, will focus on sustainable development and integrated management of water resources for the achievement of social, economic and environmental objectives.

The President’s official visit to Tajikistan is reflective of the Pakistan’s vision to strengthen relations with neighbouring and regional countries and further increasing regional connectivity. 

Earlier, on arrival the President was warmly received at the airport by Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan and other senior officials.
