US dollar hits highest ever value of Rs 218

The US dollar continued its upward march on Tuesday too as it touched the highest ever Rs216 mark with an appreciation of 80 paisa against the Pakistani rupee during the early morning trade in the interbank market. In open market US dollar is being sold for Rs 218.
Earlier on Monday, the US dollar had gained a whopping Rs4.30 increase against the Pakistani rupee to reach Rs215.25 in the interbank trading.
The greenback had closed at Rs215.20 on Monday after an increase of Rs4.25 in the interbank trading.
It also merits a mention here that the US dollar has gained Rs33.23 so far in three months against the local currency since the coalition government came into power.
