Mumbai attack case hearing adjourned till July 23

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad adjourning on Wednesday the hearing of the Mumbai attack case without any proceedings till July 23.

The hearing was adjourned after FIA prosecutor Akram Qureshi failed to appear before the court. Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi is hearing the case.

The bail applications of the six accused in the case was scheduled to be discussed. The accused include Hammad Amin, Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal, Muhammad Younus, Shahid Jameel and Sufyan Zafar.

The ATC has been hearing the case since 2009.

The case has been on hold for months as the prosecution is still waiting for the Indian government’s response with regard to sending 24 Indian witnesses to Pakistan to record their statements. APP/AFP
