Court restrains police from harassing PML-N workers

ISLAMABAD: The Lahore High Court restrained the police from harassing PML-N leaders and workers on Thursday.
The petitioner had pleaded that the court quash the cases against PML-N leaders. The court sought the details of the cases registered against workers of the party. It ordered the police not to harass PML-N leaders and workers.

Notices were issued to the Punjab IG and interior secretary.
Police have lodged criminal cases against nearly 17,000 workers of the PML-N for breaking the election rules, a statement said on Monday, as the country prepares to go to the polls next week. According to the police statement, the latest 16,868 cases were registered in Punjab over the past four days.
