Naqeebullah Mehsud’s death in police encounter raises eyebrows

KARACHI: The death of Naqeebullah Mehsud in the alleged police encounter in Malir has raised several questions.

The issue was raised in the social media after 92 News aired the news whether the encounter was real or fake.

Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal has ordered the DIG South to probe into the matter.

Meanwhile, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto has taken notice of the incident.

In a statement on the social media, PTI chairman Imran Khan said that the situation of the Sindh police is also very bad. “Rao Anwaar murdered Naqeeb Mehsud,” he said.

The PTI has submitted a resolution in the Sindh Assembly against the extra-judicial murder. It has also written a letter to the Sindh chief minister for a judicial inquiry into the matter.

PTI MPA Khurram Sher Zaman said that Naqeeb Mehsud has been killed in a fake encounter.

On the other hand, SSP Rao Anwaar said that the killed accused belonged to the TTP. “He was involved in an attack on the army convoy in 2009 and said to be a close aide of Maulvi Ishaq involved in the attack on the airport,” he added.
