In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership while lashing out at a protest march by the Hindu Ekta Manch has warned of agitation if the victimization of Jammu Muslims is not stopped.
According to Kashmir Media Service, resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement in Srinagar said a rally by some Hindu chauvinists led by a BJP leader in support of a rapist and murderer of a minor Kashmiri girl is a glaring example of how the Indian ruling regime has fallen with regard to humanity and ethics.
The leaders termed the rally a slap on the face of the entire humanity.
Pro-India National Conference leader, Dr Farooq Abdullah has alleged the BJP of giving communal colour to Kathua rape and murder incident.
Farooq Abdullah while interacting with his party workers at his Gupkar based residence said the use of Indian flag by the BJP activists during a rally to defend a rapist shows the nature of communalism in the region.
Meanwhile, New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists has asked the New Delhi's National Investigation Agency to immediately drop charges against Kashmiri photojournalist, Kamran Yusuf and release him.
Steven Butler, CPJ's Asia program coordinator in a statement said the agency has no business defining what a real journalist should cover.
In another development, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of the CRPF was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a stream along the Jammu-Srinagar highway.APP/AFP
