Govt committed to exploit full potential of Karachi August 19, 2020

ISLAMABAD- Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar says the government is committed to exploit full potential of Karachi by sorting out all the issues of the mega city.

Talking to media along with Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi and Minister for Information Technology and Telecom Syed Amin Ul Haque in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said country's economic development is linked with Karachi as it generates most of the revenue of the country.

The Minister said the federation and the provincial government of Sindh have reached a consensus for development of Sindh including Karachi and will move in harmony for prosperity of people. 

Asad Umar said all the issues of Karachi including water, solid waste disposal, encroachments and road infrastructure will be resolved at the earliest. 

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Amin Ul Haque said a committee has been set up regarding the developmental projects of Karachi, and it will act as a bridge between the federation and the province. 

Syed Ali Haider Zaidi said development of Karachi is imperative for strengthening the country's economy.
