Massive protests erupt in India against Navjot Singh Sidhu

CHANDIGARH –Massive Protests started in India against former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu on his return from Pakistan on Sunday.

Indian Punjab’s minister, Sidhu crossed Wagha border on Friday to attend the oath-taking ceremony on Pakistan’s 22nd Prime Minister Imran Khan.

SAD workers staged a protest after he met and hugged Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the oath-taking ceremony of Imran Khan in Islamabad.

Sidhu was seated next to President of Azad Kashmir, Masood Khan at the swearing-in ceremony.

The black flag was shown to Sidhu by the Akali workers under the leadership of Kanwalpreet Kaki.

According to them, Sidhu has hurt the martyrs’ families.

Moreover, Sidhu shook hands and hugged the newly-elected 22nd PM of Pakistan before gifting him a shawl. Several other friends of Khan from the cricketing world also joined the meeting.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday also launched a scathing attack on the Congress party over its party leader Navjot Singh Sidhu’s Pakistan visit and said that his visit was “no less than a crime”.

Addressing a press briefing, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “It is no less than a crime that a Congress member and cabinet minister in Punjab government went to Pakistan for the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Imran Khan and acted in a certain way.”
