Afghan Taliban claims responsibility for blast near NDS Headquarters Kabul

KABUL: Afghan Taliban claimed the responsibility for blast near National Directorate of Security (NDS) Headquarters Kabul.

Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid claimed that Taliban fighters entered in the office of NDS and launched the attack.

The incident occurred just after the days the announcement of ‘spring offensive’ by Taliban.

The attack was launched through a car that killed at least 28 people and more than 300 injured.

The incident point was cordoned by Afghan authorities and wounded were transferred to hospital.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani condemned the attack and called it a coward attack that targeted civilians.

Ghani said “We condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist attack in Puli Mahmoood Khan neighbourhood of Kabul, as a result of which many of our countrymen were martyred and wounded.”

Earlier Taliban were fighting in Kunduz with Afghan forces after the announcement of spring offensive but it was the major attack.

The QCG is trying to resume peace talks with Taliban but Taliban refused to negotiate until the complete withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan.
