No new tax imposed on poor segments of society: Finance Minister

Federal Minister for Finance Asad Umer underlined the need for investigating the reports of 'Wall Street Journal' containing the matter of 'Offshore companies' scandals.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that National Accountability Bureau which is an investigative institution, would conduct the inquiry regarding these reports. He made it clear that the PTI government would not accept any deal based on kick-backs.
Asad Umar said PTI government has levied taxes on wealthy people, while no new tax has been imposed on the poor.
Commenting on currency rate, he said it was the prerogative of state bank to formulate the policy regarding currency rate.
He said that the present government would make all out efforts to streamline the system in PIA.
