Tarbella dam 5 units shut down

PESHAWAR: After shutting down of five power generation plants of Tarbella dam on Tuesday owing to decreased water inflow in the lake the power generation remained 642 megawatts.
According to the dam officials, currently 9 units were operating and producing 642 MW electricity against its full capacity of 3478 MW generation.
They said that water storage capacity of the dam has also reduced by 66 feet and today it was recorded 1484.45 feet. Shortage in Tarbella Lake reservoir would affect both power generation and agriculture sector, they added.
Today 34200 square feet water inflow was recorded in the lake while outflow in the Ghazi Brotha stream was 40000 square feet.
